Medicinal Cannabis : Endocannabinoid System
This module, Medicinal Cannabis: Endocannabinoid System, will present information on the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)and a discussion of the actions of endogenous and exogenous cannabinoids.
- Review of the components of the ECS
- Rationale for medicinal cannabis use
- Current and future uses of cannabinoids
Although certain states have legalized marijuana for medical and/or recreational use, marijuana remains a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substance Act. The growing, sale, distribution or use of marijuana therefore remains illegal under federal law. Use of marijuana for research is permitted subject to specific federal requirements. These educational courses do not provide legal advice with respect to marijuana. Physicians and other healthcare providers are encouraged to consult their own legal counsel in regards to specific legal issues and risks with respect to marijuana.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide evidenced based information in regards to medical marijuana and does not endorse or oppose its use.
