Ben Z. Stanger, MD, PhD
Hanna Wise Professor of Cancer Research
Professor of Medicine and Cell and Developmental Biology
Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Stanger is Hanna Wise Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His laboratory seeks to understand molecular and cellular pathogenesis of disorders of the digestive tract: liver disease, diabetes, and pancreatic cancer. Active areas of study include: 1) exploring the extent to which cellular plasticity plays a role in cancer and liver regeneration; 2) understanding how tumor cells mold their microenvironment; and 3) defining the molecular mechanisms of cancer cell invasion and metastasis.
