Dr. Gutkind is a basic scientist with a passion for exploiting the emerging information on dysregulated signaling circuitries and individual genomic and molecular alterations to develop new precision therapies to prevent and treat cancer. He has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a superb team of talented students and outstanding collaborators, with the shared goal of bringing the benefits of the recent revolution in cancer genetics and immune oncology to the cancer patients, while training the next generation of biomedical scientists. As part of a translational research network, he works tirelessly to develop new effective, safe, and low cost oral cancer preventive strategies, as well as novel multimodality precision immunotherapies to achieve durable cancer remission (cure).
