Dr. Barbara Pro is a medical oncologist at The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University. Dr. Pro is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and also serves as Director of Northwestern Medicine Developmental Therapeutics Institute’s Fellowship Program. She is a national leader in the research and treatment of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas (specializing in T-cell lymphomas).
Prior to joining The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center Barbara was a Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University, as well as Chief of the Lymphoma Section and Director of the Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Lymphoma Clinic. Dr. Pro’s research focused on clinical trials for the application of targeted therapeutic agents and is helping to improve the outcome of patients affected with aggressive lymphoma subtypes, and has led to the approval of several novel drugs. Dr. Pro received her MD from the University of La Sapienza, Rome, Italy then completed her internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center (NY) and then fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Barbara is an internationally renowned clinician and researcher and her work has been published extensively. She is currently a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and other medical societies.
