The Telehealth & Connected Care: An Advanced Course will introduce learners to Telehealth and Connected Care by exploring the different technologies, applications within healthcare and components of creating a telehealth program. It also explores the technical, regulatory, legal and practical aspects to conducting a telehealth visit. This course prepares clinicians, administrators, managers and other professionals from a wide variety of health care specialties how to successfully conduct, evaluate and advocate for telehealth within their own organizations.

This course is designed for all physicians, psychologists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants and other health professionals.

Objectives

  • Describe Telehealth and its corresponding technologies.
  • Analyze the applications, benefits and challenges of Telehealth delivery.
  • Formulate an effective telehealth team with various roles.
  • Employ common Telehealth technologies with technical proficiency.
  • Compose a plan for general set-up, physical exam and troubleshooting during a Telehealth encounter.
  • Practice the ethical, legal, and regulatory considerations of Telehealth.
  • Organize programmatic issues and ways to improve system.
