The ultimate goal of the 16th Annual Cerebrovascular Update: A Stroke Journey from Prevention to Recovery is to improve the delivery of care for stroke patients by improving the performance of practicing physicians as they care for patients with stroke related medical complications. The Course Directors, Carissa C. Pineda, MD, FAHA and Pascal Jabbour, MD, and Course Co-Directors Robert H. Rosenwasser, MD, FACS, FAHA and Rodney D. Bell, MD, Thomas Jefferson University Departments of Neurology, and Neurological Surgery, have developed an agenda that includes in-depth presentations on epidemiology and treatment options for risk factors in stroke such as hypertension and blood pressure management, atrial fibrillation, acute stroke, endocrine dysfunction, arrhythmia, seizures, aneurysms, vascular diseases, antiplatelet therapy and anticoagulation, and antiplatelet therapy in secondary stroke prevention.
This conference has been specially designed for practicing neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency medicine physicians, critical care physicians, hospitalists, neuroradiologists, primary care physicians, internists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, case managers and rehabilitation therapists who treats a myriad of stroke related conditions and diseases in their practice.
