The 4th Annual Jefferson Infertility Counseling Conference: When It Takes More Than Two to Make a Baby addresses challenges in infertility counseling due to advances in assisted reproductive technologies and the associated psychological, ethical and legal issues that accompany those advancements.
This 3-day course is designed specifically for mental health professionals, physicians, nurses and affiliated professionals.
- Track 1 on Wednesday offers skills training with theory
- Track 2 on Wednesday offers advanced testing interpretation skill building
Thursday and Friday feature more advanced training drawn from "real-life" cases, ethics training and a novel "psychology lab" (using live actors) that explores the inter-professional challenges of complex clinical cases.

PSYCHOLOGISTS: The Mental Health Professional Group (MHPG) of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The MHPG maintains responsibility for this program and its content. A maximum of 22.75 continuing education credits will be provided.
SOCIAL WORKERS**: This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886697418-2487) for 21 continuing education contact hours.
NURSES: A maximum of 23 nursing contact hours will be awarded for this program. The participant must attend the entire program to be eligible for full contact hour credit. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is an approved provider of Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
