FCCS training prepares non-intensivists, nurses, house staff, and other critical care practitioners for the preliminary evaluation, stabilization and management of critically ill or injured patients until a transfer or expert consultation can be organized. This standardized two day course includes a combination of didactic lectures and case-based skills stations. Participants will gain knowledge and skills in the areas of mechanical ventilation, airway management, diagnosis and management of shock, cardiopulmonary/cerebral resuscitation, neurologic support, and the diagnosis and management of life-threatening infections and metabolic disturbances.
