The implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME) in GME requires the development and implementation of robust assessment programs. In addition, the US has begun the implementation of Milestones to serve as the primary framework for assessment, curriculum and as a component of outcomes-based accreditation. Substantial research has highlighted numerous challenges in assessment by faculty and medical education training programs. This highly interactive course will assist faculty developing skills in multiple assessment methods and tools, application and use of the Milestones and effective practices for Clinical Competency Committees.
