Course Description

The David M. Davis Visiting Professorship is year-end program that invites a distinguished urologist to provide a series of lectures on their topic of expertise. There is also an interactive case presentation activity between the residents and the visiting professor. This year, Dr. Colin Dinney from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston will be presenting the latest data on the management of bladder cancer.

Successful Completion

To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Monday, August 2, 2021. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses.. 

Learning Objectives

Following completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Evaluate the risk and benefits of neoadjuvant therapy before radical cystectomy.
  2. Discuss how precision medicine is evolving in the management of non-muscle muscle invasive bladder cancer.
  3. Examine how genomic and genetic testing may guide neoadjuvant therapy approaches.
  4. Discuss the standard management of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
  5. Describe when it is appropriate to use intravesical therapy such as BCG. 
  6. Select the appropriate treatment option for patients that manifest BCG refractory disease.
