5th Annual Neurocritical Care Symposium
***Online registration is now closed. Individuals interested in attending can register on-site for this conference.***
The 5th Annual Neurocritical Care Symposium: A Practical Approach focuses on practical issues facing the healthcare professional caring for the critically-ill neurological patient. Through case presentations carefully selected to illustrate the difficulties of diagnosing and managing these patients, participants will learn how recent advances in the field can be applied in their practices. To further enhance learning, hands on simulation workshops have been developed to reflect real patient cases faced by critical care practitioners.
Together with our expert interdisciplinary team of faculty, participants will critique treatment approaches, interpret clinical and laboratory findings, and navigate through the critical decision points of care. Active learning begins prior to the conference with a pre-test to help you identify areas of your own needs, and continues through the conference with time for questions and discussions. With the use of audience polling during case presentations, you decide the next steps in each case's management with immediate feedback from peers and experts. After the conference, a brief post test, with a web-based review of the rationale for each correct response, serves to reinforce key learning points.
New This Year - Patient Simulation Workshops (Saturday, January 30, 2016)
Attendees will have the option to further enhance learning through hands on simulation workshops to take place at the Thomas Jefferson University Simulation Center. The course directors have developed scenarios to reflect real life, patient cases faced by critical care practitioners. By experiencing simulated critical care episodes, participants will be able to assess their level of knowledge and performance in intense critical care situations. Expert faculty will be facilitating and moderating throughout each scenario.
